Suzugami Tin Plate
Suzugami ("tin paper") from the metalwork artisans of Takaoka City has many uses, from serving food (100% tin is anti-microbial) to making origami shapes.

By repeatedly hammering out a rolled sheet of tin, then re-folding and re-hammering many times over, it becomes thin like paper. As the molecular structure of the tin is broken down, it becomes extremely malleable. In the process it gains a strength that has resistance to repeated bending.
